Sweet Afton's, Salt Lake City, Utah's premier candy store, is currently being offered for sale. Sweet Afton's has been in business for over 18 years and is a favorite of local and tourist clientele alike. Even with the current nationwide economic situation our loyal customers continue to offer their support. In October, we enjoyed our best sales month EVER! Sweet Afton's specializes in homemade fresh cream and butter fudge (nearly 90 different flavors). We sold close to 20,000 pounds of fudge in 2007, which totals nearly $200,000 in retail and wholesale fudge sales. Old-fashioned novelty candy and a variety of specialty gift and gourmet items are also an important part of our business. Facilities: Sweet Afton's is housed in a former, relocated, train station, with just over 2,000 sq. ft. of retail, production and storage space. Competition: Sweet Afton's is located in a quaint country shopping "Village" of 22 shops, restaurant, bakery, art gallery, convention center and day spa. Sweet Afton's is the Village candy store with no other competition nearby. Sweet Afton's is clearly Salt Lake City's premier candy store. There is no other such establishment anywhere in the state. We are especially well known for our fresh, homemade fudge. We also sold over 5400 fresh dipped caramel apples in six weeks during September and October this past year. That equates to over $21,000 in apple sales alone.

Growth/Expansion: Currently, Sweet Afton's sales come mainly from the walk-in retail customers. However, we are expanding our wholesale and corporate gift accounts. We have a web site, which is mainly informational (no shopping cart available). Five areas; wholesale, corporate gifts, gift baskets, fundraising, and internet sales all have great potential for expansion and added value to Sweet Afton's. Also, there is the opportunity to take the fudge and fresh cinnamon roasted nuts "on the road" to do festivals, conventions, sporting and other off-site events.
